After being ignited by the ignition system, the mixture produces a high-temperature, high-pressure flame. This flame is accelerated through a Laval nozzle, forming a supersonic flame jet at high temperature and pressure. A powder feeder delivers the powdered material from a low-pressure zone into the flame jet, where it is heated and accelerated before being sprayed onto the workpiece surface to form a high-quality coating.
