Shandong-shipped SX-80 plasma spraying equipment, used for the production of surface coatings on insulating bearings.
Insulated bearing coating refers to the process of applying a layer of aluminum oxide onto the outer surface of the bearing raceway using plasma spraying technology, based on standard bearings, thereby endowing them with insulating properties. In electric motors and generators, circuit currents and induced currents can flow between the housing, bogie frame, and wheelset. During bearing rotation, when current passes through the bearing, it can break down the extremely thin oil film in the rolling contact area, generating sparks that cause localized melting and damage to the contact surfaces—resulting in electrical erosion. This leads to poor bearing rotation; in severe cases, it can progress to spalling, ultimately causing bearing failure. Additionally, the hardness of the rolling surfaces decreases, making them more susceptible to wear and directly affecting the performance of the motor and even the entire machine.

The Sanxin SX-80 plasma spraying production line is being used for coating tungsten carbide components at a hard alloy enterprise in Jiangsu Province. Plasma spraying is a surface enhancement and modification technology that endows substrate surfaces with properties such as wear resistance, corrosion resistance, high-temperature oxidation resistance, electrical insulation, thermal insulation, radiation shielding, friction reduction, and sealing. In plasma spraying, a plasma arc powered by direct current serves as the heat source. This arc heats ceramic, alloy, metal, and other materials to a molten or semi-molten state, which are then sprayed onto the pre-treated workpiece surface at high velocity, forming a firmly bonded surface layer.
