The traditionally used Teflon coating exhibits excessive peel strength against hot melt adhesives, resulting in insignificant non-stick performance and inadequate wear resistance. This leads to a rapid loss of non-stick properties, lower production efficiency, shorter maintenance cycles, and increased costs.

Product Description

Introduction to Thermal Spray Non-Stick Coatings

One,   Applications of non-stick coatings

Disposable hygiene products equipment; machinery and molds for rubber and plastic products; wood, paper, and printing machinery; footwear, garment, and packaging industries—specifically, on the drive rollers of equipment used for disposable hygiene products (such as training pants, adult and infant diaper production lines, and women’s sanitary napkin production lines), coating machines, printing machines, dyeing and finishing machines, adhesive tape production machinery, and diaper production machinery. Typically, certain drive rollers in these devices come into contact with coated surfaces, printed surfaces, or dyed surfaces. If these surfaces are not yet fully dried, they can easily contaminate the roller surfaces, thereby affecting the quality of the product’s surface patterns.

The traditionally used Teflon coating exhibits excessive peel strength against hot melt adhesives, resulting in insignificant non-stick performance and inadequate wear resistance. Consequently, its non-stick properties quickly degrade, leading to low production efficiency, short maintenance intervals, and increased costs. Our factory has independently developed and patented a “Thermal Spray Anti-Adhesive and Wear-Resistant Coating” using plasma thermal spraying technology. This coating combines a nickel-based alloy matrix with a highly dispersed polymer-based anti-adhesive material, leveraging the biomimetic lotus leaf effect. As a result, the coating boasts extremely low adhesive peel strength and outstanding wear resistance. Overall, its performance is several dozen times superior to that of Teflon coatings, placing it at the domestic leading level in this field.

Main applications:

1. Surface treatment of hot-type molds

2. Surface treatment of the conveyor rollers for diaper machines

3. Surface treatment of various coating rollers used in rubber compounding machinery

4. The surface of food machinery is non-stick.

5. Surface treatment of various coating machine rollers

Two Introduction to the performance of non-stick coatings

Our factory’s newly invented non-stick and wear-resistant coating is designed to address and replace the traditional “Teflon” non-stick coatings commonly used in various industrial fields, which suffer from excessive peel force on hot melt adhesives, insufficient non-stick performance, and inadequate wear resistance—leading to premature failure of their non-stick properties. This new coating enhances non-stick performance, extends service life, reduces the intensity and frequency of equipment maintenance and repairs, improves equipment utilization efficiency, elevates product quality, and lowers production costs.

Coating characteristics:

1. The coating does not adhere to various tapes, adhesives, glues, or hot melt adhesives.

2. Hardness: HV800

3. Roughness: Ra 3.2–6.4

4. Temperature resistance range: Within 0–450℃

5. Thickness: 0.15–0.3 mm

III. Performance of Non-Stick Coatings

The coating is made of a high-strength alloy with a surface hardness reaching HRC60. The bonding strength between the coating and the substrate is as high as 25 MPa. It boasts wear resistance and service life that are unmatched by Teflon coatings. Its non-stick performance is exceptional, with a peel strength from hot-melt adhesives less than 5 g/25 mm. When hot-melt adhesives commonly used in the paper product processing industry are applied to the surface of this coating and then cooled, the adhesive layer can be easily peeled off by hand without leaving any adhesive residue—a non-stick effect that is particularly remarkable. Compared to Teflon coatings, the peel strength of the adhesive layer on this coating is significantly reduced. In scratch tests conducted using hard objects such as iron sheets, the Teflon coating was immediately scratched, exposing the underlying substrate and losing its non-stick properties. In contrast, after multiple scratches, this coating remained intact and showed no significant loss of non-stick performance. Pilot testing on disposable hygiene product equipment has demonstrated a marked improvement in the efficiency of handling adhesive contamination during the production process, greatly enhancing both product quality and production efficiency. This breakthrough addresses a key technical challenge faced by this equipment and the entire industry, making it highly practical and worthy of widespread adoption.
