SX-8000 Fuel-Based Supersonic Flame Spraying Equipment

The SX-8000 supersonic flame spraying system is a new type of HVOF system. Its basic principle involves atomizing kerosene thoroughly using an atomizing nozzle to produce a combustible mixture, which is then fed into the combustion chamber. After being ignited by the ignition system, the high-temperature, high-pressure gas passes through a Laval nozzle, where it undergoes further combustion, generating a high-temperature, high-pressure supersonic flame jet. A powder feeding system delivers powdered materials from a low-pressure zone into the flame jet, where they are heated and accelerated before being sprayed onto the workpiece surface to form a high-quality coating.
The equipment includes: ① intelligent control cabinet ② intelligent dual-powder feeding system ③ gas safety center ④ spray gun ⑤ cooling system ⑥ kerosene storage cabinet and piping connections, among other components.
The SX-8000 supersonic flame spraying system was developed based on the introduction, digestion, and assimilation of advanced foreign equipment and technologies. It exhibits eight distinct and remarkable characteristics that set it apart from other HVOF systems:
1. The fuel used is kerosene, and the oxidizer is oxygen—a relatively safe combustion mode.
2. The spray gun’s structure is designed based on the principle of a rocket generator. The combustion chamber pressure reaches 150 PSI, and the flame jet velocity exceeds 2000 m/s. It delivers high output power and features stepless adjustment capability.
3. The spray gun employs radial powder feeding. This new injection method enables the powder to melt more effectively and distribute uniformly throughout the flame, thereby improving coverage efficiency and coating quality.
4. The system design sets the temperature range within a specific interval and takes increasing the speed as the primary objective function for structural optimization. X-ray diffraction tests have confirmed that the coating produced by this device not only exhibits high bonding strength and high coating density but also features compressive surface stress.
5. Modular design, high-performance PLC control, and safe and easy operation;
6. The particle velocity generated by the combustion design reaches 1,100 meters per second (3,300 to 3,900 feet per second), significantly faster than that of other HVOF systems;
7. The coating thickness exceeds 1/2 inch (compressive stress coating), and its microhardness is higher than that of any other HVOF system (the microhardness of WC-Co coatings sprayed using the HV-80 torch can reach as high as 1450, whereas the microhardness of WC-Co coatings sprayed by other gas-fired HVOF guns ranges only from 900 to 1100).
8. The SX-8000 supersonic flame spraying system achieves exceptional high-pressure HVOF coating quality, with coatings attaining a bond strength of up to 90 MPa.
1. The SX-8000 human-machine interface intelligent control cabinet is the control center of the entire equipment set.
Features of the SX-8000 Human-Machine Interface Intelligent Control System:
The SX-8000 human-machine interface intelligent control system, leveraging cutting-edge technology, provides automatic control over the entire spraying system. The supersonic spraying system boasts an advanced level comparable to similar foreign products, offering superior performance and ease of operation. The control cabinet features a PLC-based touch-screen control terminal that integrates operation, settings, help functions, display, process monitoring, and fault alarm surveillance into a single unit. This simplifies panel design, making the system convenient to use and ensuring even simpler, more intuitive operation.
2、 Gas Safety Center
HVOF Liquid and Gas Safety Center: Kerosene and oxygen used in supersonic applications carry a risk of flammability and explosiveness. Additionally, the use of various electrical components that can generate sparks poses a risk of combustion and explosion. Therefore, our company has specially designed and developed an independent liquid and gas safety center to provide safety protection during equipment operation.
Functional features:
A. Liquid and Gas Leak Detection System
B. Liquid Gas Leak Alarm Device
C. Quickly shut off the intake pipe.
D. Flame-arresting and flame-out prevention device for spray guns
E. Leakage protection, cut-off, and alarm devices
F. Liquid Gas Overpressure Protection Device
G. Water flow leakage pressure sensing device
H. Water Temperature Overheat Warning, Shutdown System
I. Dust Concentration Monitoring and Alarm, Shutdown Device
3、 SX-8000 Fuel Supersonic Intelligent Dual-Powder Feeding System
Introduction to the Technical Advantages of the Newly Upgraded Intelligent Dual-Powder-Feeding System:
1. Parameters are set using a PLC and touch screen to precisely control powder feeding accuracy and feeding speed.
2. The system features two independent powder-feeding units: the large hopper has a capacity of 20 liters and uses a blade-type conventional powder feeder capable of delivering up to 150 grams per minute. The small hopper employs a rotary drum feeder, making it suitable for dispensing various ultrafine powders as well as difficult-to-feed mixed powders.
3. It features a fully enclosed plastic steel enclosure that is unaffected by external environmental factors such as temperature and humidity. The panel has a transparent glass door, providing a clear view of the powder feeding status at a glance.
4. Optional features include a powder feeding vibration device, a powder tank heating device for powders, and a metering and weighing device.
The SX-8000 fuel-supplied supersonic high-speed flame spraying powder feeder is a device used to store spraying powder and deliver it to the spray gun according to process requirements. It uses nitrogen gas as the powder-feeding gas; the spraying powder is atomized and vibrated by the powder-feeding gas, enabling it to be conveyed to the outlet of the feeder and then exit the feeder along with the powder-feeding gas, entering the spray gun. By adjusting the potentiometer on the control cabinet panel, the speed of powder feeding can be regulated.
4. SX-8000 Fuel Supersonic Burner
The SX-8000 supersonic flame torch uses kerosene as fuel, oxygen as the combustion-supporting gas, air and water as cooling gases, and nitrogen for powder delivery. The torch can operate continuously and stably for extended periods.
5, SX-8000 Chiller Unit
The cooling unit consists of a high-pressure water pump, a chiller, and a large stainless steel chilled-water tank. The high-pressure water pump operates at a pressure of 12 kg, the chiller has a capacity ranging from 5 to 10 HP, and the chilled-water tank has a capacity of 3 tons.
Note:
1. The cooling capacity is based on the following conditions: chilled water inlet and outlet temperatures of 12℃/7℃, and cooling water inlet and outlet temperatures of 30℃/35℃.
2. Operating Range: Chilled water temperature range: 5℃ to 35℃; chilled water inlet-outlet temperature difference: 3℃ to 8℃. To be used in environments where the condensing temperature does not exceed 35℃.
3. Unit Conversion: 1 kW cooling capacity = 860 kcal/hr; 1 RT = 3,024 kcal/hr; 1 kcal/hr = 3.969 BTU/hr. 1 metric horsepower (HP) = 0.735 kW
