As a result, these components are highly susceptible to damage—such as high-temperature corrosion of converter shrouds and flues, thermal and cyclic fatigue of support rollers, guide rollers, and pinch rolls in continuous casting production lines, mechanical wear of molds, conveying rollers, and various process rollers in slab continuous casting lines, fatigue and wear of tension rolls and straightening rolls in cold-rolling mill production lines, high-temperature corrosion and scaling on bottom rollers in continuous annealing furnaces, and erosion and wear caused by molten metal on immersion rolls, tension rolls, and guide rolls in continuous hot-dip galvanizing lines. All these failure issues can be effectively addressed by applying thermal spraying techniques using high-strength, high-performance materials.
