Product Description
SX-600 model Supersonic Arc Spraying Equipment

Supersonic Arc Spraying is a new technology developed on the basis of conventional Arc Spraying. Supersonic arc-sprayed coatings exhibit significantly superior performance compared to conventional arc-sprayed coatings and have been widely adopted in recent years across various industries, including machinery, chemical engineering, power generation, metallurgy, steel structures, shipbuilding, naval vessels, and transportation infrastructure such as ports and docks.
Supersonic arc spraying involves feeding two filamentary metallic coating materials into two conductive nozzles within an arc spray gun, with each nozzle connected to one of the two electrodes—a high-current, low-voltage terminal. When the metal filaments advance and come into contact with each other, the resulting short-circuit arc instantly generates temperatures exceeding 5,000°C, melting the ends of the filaments. These molten filaments are then atomized into fine molten droplets by a highly compressed air stream traveling at supersonic speeds—approximately twice the speed of sound. The molten droplets are propelled toward the workpiece surface at supersonic velocities (over 400 m/s) by the compressed air stream, thereby forming an arc-sprayed coating. Compared to conventional arc-sprayed coatings, supersonic arc-sprayed coatings exhibit finer coating microstructures, denser coating architectures, and higher bonding strengths.
The SX-600 supersonic arc spray gun was developed on the basis of the SX-500 arc spray gun. It features an added Laval nozzle acceleration chamber in the spray gun’s structure. When compressed air passes through the Laval chamber, the airflow velocity increases significantly, enabling the atomized particles to achieve supersonic spraying.
SX-600 Features of the supersonic arc spraying machine:
The company’s latest supersonic arc spraying machine consists primarily of a main power supply, a supersonic arc spray gun, a wire-feeding mechanism, a control system, and a compressed air system. The equipment is meticulously manufactured, boasts reliable performance, and exhibits excellent operational stability, providing the most fundamental guarantee for obtaining high-quality coating layers.
1 Stable performance, easy to operate
This machine uses integrated circuits to hard-code its functions into a program. During operation, the machine automatically executes standardized procedures, thereby preventing operator errors that could damage the equipment and ensuring both operator safety and equipment integrity. The machine is also equipped with a remote control switch, allowing spray operations to be carried out even when the operator is located at a considerable distance from the main unit. The power supply for the supersonic arc spraying equipment... : The output voltage and current are extremely stable, with strong anti-interference capability, sensitive adjustment, uniform spraying, minimal oxidation and burn-off, and the ability to operate reliably for long periods under harsh conditions; the equipment boasts a long service life.
2、 Wire sizes are optional, and the coating exhibits high bonding strength.
Wire diameter options: φ1.6 to φ3.0 mm, suitable for a wide range of spraying applications, helping businesses save on materials and improve economic efficiency.
The coating exhibits a bonding strength of up to 70 MPa, whereas the bonding strength of conventional arc spraying typically ranges only from 30 to 40 MPa. The particles are ejected at high velocity with excellent atomization, resulting in fine particle size and a smooth, highly dense coating (porosity ≤ 0.5%). Consequently, the coating demonstrates significantly enhanced wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
3, The workpiece remains undeformed and its microstructure is unaffected.
The temperature rise during spraying of general workpieces does not exceed 100℃, so the workpieces remain undeformed. Since the heat from spraying does not directly act on the surface of the workpiece, the spraying process also has no adverse effect on the microstructure of the workpiece.
4. High spraying efficiency and wide applicability.
It boasts high spraying efficiency and excellent energy utilization, capable of spraying over 40 kg of metallic wire per hour. It is ideal for on-site construction and can be used to spray a wide variety of metallic and metal-ceramic materials (both solid wires and powder-core wires), including various alloy wires, ceramics, molybdenum, aluminum, zinc, red copper, copper alloys, stainless steel, Babbitt alloy, and more. Widely used for wear- and corrosion-resistant coatings in steel structures, mechanical equipment, crankshafts, camshafts, starters, generators, shaft components, molds, chemical industry, printing equipment, paper-drying cylinders, power generation, metallurgy, and other fields.
5 • The spray gun has a large extension range, and wire feeding via push-pull action is optional.
The spray gun can be equipped with a 30-meter cable, an air hose, and an eight-core control cable. The spray gun’s operational radius from the main unit can reach up to 30 meters, enabling it to spray in remote job sites. This machine offers two wire-feed options: pull-feed or push-feed.
6 Wear parts do not need to be replaced frequently.
Components such as the conductive nozzle, featuring a patented design, are highly durable, significantly extending the service life of wear parts, reducing production costs, improving work efficiency, and effectively enhancing coating quality.
7. Easy to repair and maintain
The design of the host machine and spray gun takes into account maintenance and servicing requirements, adopting a simple-to-disassemble, compact structural approach.
